Untitled design (11)Oak Beam Case Study: Timberland

Since 1973, the Timberland name has conjured images of the iconic waterproof leather boot. Nowadays, the company retails its distinctive outdoors wear and signature footwear through stores across the world. Their flagship UK store is found on London’s Regent Street, where we worked to emphasise the shop interior’s distinct brand aesthetics.

What did the project involve?

Oakbeamuk.com supplied a set of 6 massive profiled beams over 7 metres in length, each of it which runs the entire width of the store. The natural, matching wood theme is echoed in the shelving and point of sale units that also take their colour and texture cues from their big brothers in the shop’s ceiling. Oakbeamuk.com’s beams perform another, more utilitarian function.

They encase the ventilation, electrical, and computer cabling that are necessary elements for a modern retail space.

Where did Oakbeamuk.com excel?

The logistics of handling and then gaining access through a restricted entrance during working hours along the UK’s busiest shopping street were important considerations when planning and executing this job. We navigated this issue through careful planning and time-management, avoiding disruption to coordinate the swift unloading and efficient delivery of stock.

What was the overall effect?

They are the most noticeable physical feature of the store’s layout, beautifully complementing the buff sand colour of the brand’s signature desert boots.
